From Baby Shower to 1st Birthday: Themes Start the Party!

Let’s talk themes…

Whether you’re planning a baby shower or birthday party, choosing a theme is super important. Not only does a theme help everything come together and look better, but it also makes the planning process so much easier.

If you’re not one that loves the idea of a specific theme, color palettes are also a fun way to organize an event and make it more simple to plan. It will make your life a whole lot easier if you’re going shopping for specific colored items, versus trying to piece together a bunch of random things.

No matter the party, themes are easy to find if you don’t already have one in mind. From popular cartoons to simple generic ones, and everything in between.

There are gender-neutral themes and ones that are more specifically geared towards one way or the other. Some are more popular and easy to find decor and party favors for, and some are a bit tougher to find and you may have to get creative. If you love to DIY and want a more unique party, going the generic route or choosing one that isn’t found in stores is the way to go.

Start with choosing a theme.

Decide if you’re going to plan everything around that theme or just the decor. If you are choosing to plan everything around the theme, create or order custom invites and send them out at least two weeks before the date of the event. PicMonkey and Canva are great options for creating your own unique custom invitations.

Pro tip: If you want to order custom invitations, Etsy is a great place to find them!

Send them out at least two weeks before the date of your event. Add an RSVP and RSVP by date to give yourself a more accurate headcount.

Plan your food items and what creative ideas you can do to make them fit with your theme. This can be so fun and there are so many awesome ideas that you can find online for inspiration.
